The winners of the “XIV Fairtrade Coffee Quality Contest” and the “III Contest of Coffees From All Marias” by Coopasv were awarded a trip to Colombia. The cooperative members Tiago Camilo and Flávia Fernandes, coffee producers from Ilicínea/MG, were the champions of the contests. The trip allowed them to get to know the Colombian coffee triangle, where they saw up close a little more about the management, productivity and commercialization of the country.
The general manager of Coopasv, Beatriz de Souza (Bia), the commercial director, Reiler Scalioni, and Talisson Pereira, communication advisor for the cooperative, were also present on the trip. In Colombia, they got to know some of the sights in Bogotá and the coffee triangle in the region of Pereira. It was a week of a lot of knowledge. Cooperatives in Manizales, Anserma, Quindío and other social projects were visited by Coopasv.
According to the manager, Bia, the purpose of the trip was to provide the cooperative members who won the contests with knowledge of what Colombian coffee productivity is like, being a unique moment of much learning and experience.
