INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

The PPE (Individual Protection Equipment) is intended to reduce the risk of contamination of  workers in the application of agricultural pesticides and also in other rural activities, its use is very important and is mandatory by law.

According to the standard, it is the employer’s obligation to provide and maintain PPE clean and suitable for work, as well as instructing and demanding its use, training, inspecting and replacing damaged or expired PPE. Failure to comply with any of these actions can create employment problems for the employer.

It is the employee’s obligation to use PPE to carry out agricultural activities, and failure to use it can lead to dismissal for just cause.

Despite being simple, the use of PPE for the application of agricultural pesticides requires training. Great care is required when putting on the equipment and, especially, when taking it off.
