2nd Edition: Coffee contest De Todas as Marias

Women, producers, judges and female strength make up another successful contest.

Launched in 2020, the “De Todas as Marias” project is a coffee competition aimed specifically at women producers with the objective of bringing greater visibility and recognition to the female strength of the countryside. With last year’s success, Coopasv promoted the 2nd edition of the event on October 9, 2021.

The 2nd Coffee Contest “De Todas das Marias” had a great team of judges. Naiara Tomba (Carmazéns Carapina), Amanda Macedo (M2 Coffee Broker), Renata Eller (Eller Specialty Coffee), Francesca Rodrigues (Cafébras), Alberthine Vieira (Cafébras) and Maria Cláudia (Kakau Porto) as head judge.

The champion was the coffee of producer Carmem Lucia Chaves de Brito, a 64 years old, born in Três Pontas/MG. Third generation of a family that lived and wrote all its history on the farm, growing coffee. “Ucha”, as she is popularly known, owns Fazenda Caxambu and Acaraçu located in Três Pontas/MG. Their farms are UTZ, Rainforest and Fairtrade certified. She was also champion of the first edition of the 2020 contest.
